A Cincinnati city councilwoman appears to have said the victims of the savage assault that went viral over the weekend “begged for that beatdown!”

  • A man and woman were busted in connection with the brutal brawl in Cincinnati on Saturday morning that left two people seriously injured, including one suspect who was freed on bail after he was hit with gun charges earlier this month, officials said.Montianez Merriweather, 34, and 24-year-old Dekyra Vernon were arrested on Tuesday following the beatdown against a white couple that went viral online, WXIX reported, citing police.

    The duo’s exact involvement in the attack was unclear.

    They were hit with felonious assault and aggravated riot charges, according to the report.

  • Merriweather was previously indicted on July 10 for receiving stolen property, weapons under disability, improper transportation of a firearm and other charges, according to the Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police.He was out on bond during Saturday’s incident, though he only paid 10% of the $4,000 he was held on, according to the FOP.

    “This is your court system,” the FOP post read.

    The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office still has three outstanding warrants issued for additional arrests.

    The post also noted that Merriweather was released on a $4,000 bond, though he only needed to post 10% to be released.XNews of Merriweather and Dekyra Vernon’s arrests came after Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge on Monday announced that five people had been charged in relation to the attack.

    Saturday’s brawl, which sparked public outrage, took place just outside the popular nightclub LoVe.

    In a viral video of the beatdown, one woman was knocked out cold by the mob. She lay prone on the pavement as a trail of blood dripped out the side of her mouth.

    Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Vice President JD Vance, the former senator for the Buckeye State, both weighed in on the “unconscionable” violence.
